Kristopher J. HilscherKristopher J. Hilscher is a Senior Associate of Law Offices of Mark E. Sullivan, P.A. in Raleigh, North Carolina.

He began his legal career in Sanford, North Carolina where he focused on both family law and criminal defense. He was an active member of the legal community of Lee County, and he was a former president of the Lee County Bar Association. He has been practicing in Raleigh since 2012,  has limited his trial practice to family law, and is certified by the North Carolina State Bar as a Family Law Specialist. He is a member of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and serves on the following committees: Equitable Distribution Committee, 2021; Continuing Legal Education Advisory Committee, 2021-2022.  Kris is a NC State Bar Family Law Certified Specialist Mentor, 2021.  He is a member of the North Carolina State Bar Standing Committee on Legal Assistance for Military Personnel.  Kris is a member of the American Bar Association and is Co-Chair, Military Committee, 2022.  He is also a Social Committee Appointed Member, 2021, of the Wake County Bar Association.

Mr. Hilscher has appeared on CNN’s HLN, ABC, NBC, WRAL, and in The Guardian. He received an AV rating from the Martindale Hubbell Law Directory, a distinction awarded to lawyers who have achieved the highest level of professional excellence as rated by lawyers and judges. He has retained a 10/10 score on, which is based on background, client reviews, and peer endorsements. He was also recognized by Business North Carolina in the magazine’s 2018 Legal Elite directory. Kris is honored to be included among the state’s most distinguished lawyers in family law.

He provides counsel to those facing divorce, child custody, alimony, equitable distribution, high net worth divorce, complex estates and business divisions, domestic violence, child support, military pension division, military divorce, and all related family law matters. He is a strong believer in a client-driven model, where the guiding principle is to achieve his clients’ legal objectives by following the Golden Rule – treating others as he would want to be treated.

Kris married his high school sweetheart, Chelsey, and together they have two sons.
